SMLIGHT A1-SLWF-09 Modular WLED LED Controller

The SMLIGHT A1-SLWF-09 is a compact, modular controller for addressable LED strips, built around an ESP32-D0WD-V3 and pre-flashed with WLED. It provides built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and two addressable LED outputs, while optional click-in modules add wired Ethernet, Power over Ethernet (PoE), or sound-reactive control through a digital microphone.

The controller supports popular addressable LED types including WS2812B, SK6812 and APA102. Its modular design allows the base Wi-Fi controller to be expanded later without replacing the main unit.

Modular Expansion Options

The A1-SLWF-09 starts as a Wi-Fi LED controller and can be expanded with optional modules:

• Ethernet module: Adds wired 10/100 Mbps Ethernet using a LAN8720 PHY.
• PoE module: Adds IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet for installations where power and network connectivity are supplied through Ethernet.
• Digital microphone module: Adds an ICS-43434 digital MEMS microphone for sound-reactive WLED lighting.

Important: The Ethernet, PoE and microphone modules are optional add-ons and are not part of the base SLWF-09 controller unless specifically included in the purchased bundle.

Supported LED Strips

The controller is designed for addressable LED strips and supports common protocols and strip types such as WS2812B, SK6812 and APA102. LED voltage must match the selected power source and the requirements of the connected LED strip.

Power Options

• USB-C: Supports compatible USB Power Delivery or Quick Charge negotiation for 5 V or 12 V operation.
• DC input: External DC power can be supplied through the supported DC input.
• Fast-connect terminal: Provides a convenient wired power connection without soldering.
• PoE: Available when the optional PoE module is installed and used with a compatible IEEE 802.3af PoE source.

Only use a power source that is compatible with the controller and connected LED strip. Follow the manufacturer's wiring instructions and disconnect power before installing or removing add-on modules.

Smart Home and Firmware Support

The A1-SLWF-09 runs WLED out of the box and can be controlled through WLED interfaces. It can also integrate with smart home platforms such as Home Assistant. The ESP32 hardware can additionally be used with firmware such as ESPHome when configured appropriately.

Installation and Compatibility Notes

Before connecting the controller, verify the LED strip voltage, power-supply polarity and wiring. For PoE operation, use an IEEE 802.3af-compatible PoE switch or injector. Disconnect power before installing or removing any expansion module.
