One PoE cable in. Separate data and power out.

Bring reliable Power-over-Ethernet convenience to non-PoE hardware. The SMLIGHT PoE Splitter takes a standard PoE line carrying both network data and power, splitting it into two dedicated outputs: an independent RJ45 LAN port for clean data transmission, and a dedicated power connector to run your device.

Eliminate the need for nearby AC wall outlets, bulky power bricks, and messy cable clutter. Place your single-board computers, smart home hubs, or network peripherals anywhere you can run an Ethernet cable.

Key Features

  • PoE Power for Non-PoE Hardware: Power single-board computers (SBCs), mini-PCs, or legacy network equipment directly from your PoE switch—no nearby wall outlet or power supply needed.

  • Clean, Split Architecture: Separates the incoming 48V PoE signal into a standard data-only RJ45 Ethernet port and a dedicated low-voltage DC power output.

  • Three Hardware Variants: Available in USB-C (5V/2.4A), Micro-USB (5V/2.4A), and 12V DC barrel jack to match your exact device requirements.

  • Built for Smart Home Racks & Enclosures: Perfect for tidy cabinet setups, ceiling mounts, or remote sensor stations running on Home Assistant, Zigbee gateways, or media servers.

  • Plug & Play Reliability: Fully passive inline integration—just connect your incoming PoE run, plug in the Ethernet cable, connect the power jack, and you're up and running.

Choose Your Variant

  • Type-C (5V / 2.4A): Designed for modern USB-C single-board computers and devices, including the Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 5, and compatible SBCs.

  • Micro-USB (5V / 2.4A): Ideal for legacy dev boards and smart home bridges, such as the Raspberry Pi 3B / 3B+, Zero 2 W setups, and micro-USB peripherals.

  • DC 12V (2A): Engineered for 12V network gear, routers, modems, LED controllers, and devices utilizing standard DC barrel power inputs.

Popular Applications

  • Home Automation Hubs: Run your Home Assistant Yellow, Raspberry Pi, or Odroid server cleanly inside a network cabinet powered straight from your PoE switch.

  • Remote Micro-Controllers & SBCs: Mount single-board computers in lofts, basements, or outdoor enclosures without hiring an electrician to install new mains sockets.

  • Non-PoE Network Devices: Deliver stable 12V DC power and hardwired networking to non-PoE routers, switches, access points, or display panels.

  • Input Port: 1 × RJ45 PoE (44–57V)
  • Data Output: 1 × RJ45 Ethernet (Data only, 10/100 Mbps)
  • Power Output (USB-C): 5V DC @ 2.4A (12W)
  • Power Output (Micro-USB): 5V DC @ 2.4A (12W)
  • Power Output (DC Barrel): 12V DC @ 2A (24W, 5.5 × 2.1 mm)
  • PoE Standards: IEEE 802.3af / IEEE 802.3at (PoE+)
  • PoE Pinout Support: End-span 1/2 (+), 3/6 (-) & Mid-span 4/5 (+), 7/8 (-)
  • Isolation: 2.5 kV galvanic isolation
  • Design: Passive cooling, fanless, integrated cable leads
  • Configuration: Plug-and-play, automatic PoE handshake

What is the difference between a PoE Extender and a PoE Splitter?

  • A PoE Extender splits one PoE input into two PoE outputs (sending both power and data to devices that support native PoE, like IP cameras or PoE Zigbee coordinators).
  • A PoE Splitter takes one PoE input and splits it into an RJ45 data port and a separate power lead (USB-C, Micro-USB, or DC), designed specifically for hardware that does not support PoE natively (like a standard Raspberry Pi or 12V mini-router).

Which variant should I select for my Raspberry Pi?

  • Choose the Type-C variant if you are using a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5.
  • Choose the Micro-USB variant if you are using a Raspberry Pi 3B, 3B+, or earlier micro-USB powered board.

Does this provide data to my device through the USB port?

No. The USB connector (or DC barrel plug) delivers DC power only. Network data is delivered independently through the attached RJ45 Ethernet cable to your device's LAN port.

Can I plug this splitter into a regular non-PoE network switch?

No. The splitter requires an upstream Power-over-Ethernet source (an IEEE-compliant PoE switch port or a PoE injector) to draw both operating power and network data.

Is an external wall adapter required?

No. The unit takes power directly from the incoming Ethernet line from your PoE switch and steps it down to the appropriate voltage (5V or 12V depending on your chosen variant).
