GLEDOPTO AeX2gis Dual-Channel WLED Controller

The GLEDOPTO AeX2gis GL-C-116WL series is a dual-channel WLED controller designed for addressable digital LED strip installations. It provides two independent LED data outputs, up to 10A per channel and 20A total, plus relay and fuse protection, GPIO expansion and WLED-based wireless control.

Two Independent LED Channels

Control two digital LED strip zones independently from one controller. The two data outputs are assigned to IO2 and IO16, with a recommended capacity of up to 800 ICs per output according to published product specifications.

20A Total Power Capacity

The controller supports up to 10A per channel and 20A total. It is designed for DC 5V, 12V or 24V addressable LED installations. Actual power and current requirements depend on the LED strip, operating voltage, wiring and power supply used.

Independent Relay and Fuse Protection

The AeX2gis design uses two independent relays, identified as Relay0 (GPIO21) and Relay1 (GPIO19), together with channel protection. This allows the two LED outputs to be switched independently and helps isolate an inactive output from the power path.

Native WLED Control

The GL-C-116WL series is built around the WLED platform for local wireless control. Configure and operate compatible addressable LED strips through the WLED web interface and supported WLED applications. WLED also provides features such as presets, segments and lighting effects.

Wi-Fi and Optional 2.4GHz RF

The GL-C-116WL is the Wi-Fi WLED version. The GL-C-116WL-RF adds a dedicated 2.4GHz RF receiver for compatible GLEDOPTO RF remotes, while retaining WLED-based control.

AudioReactive and GPIO Expansion

The controller supports a digital PDM/I2S microphone configuration for WLED AudioReactive applications, using GPIO32 for I2S SD and GPIO15 for I2S WS. Dedicated GPIO connections are also provided on IO5, IO18 and IO33 for compatible buttons, switches, PIR sensors or other low-voltage control projects.

Flexible Power Inputs

• Screw terminals: high-current DC connection for the main LED installation.
• DC barrel jack: 5.5 × 2.1 mm, up to 5A according to published specifications.
• USB Type-C: 5V / 3A maximum input for suitable applications such as testing or configuration.
• DIY 5V output: up to 300mA for supported low-power accessories.

Addressable LED Compatibility

The GL-C-116WL series is intended for digital/addressable LED strips. Published specifications list compatibility with common pixel families including WS2811, WS2812B, WS2813, WS2815, SK6812, SM16703P and TM1814. Always confirm the LED strip's voltage, data protocol and current requirements before installation.

Smart Home and Network Integration

WLED provides local network control and can be integrated with smart-home and automation environments that support WLED, including Home Assistant. The controller can also be used with compatible network protocols and WLED ecosystem tools.

Important Installation Notes

• Use a suitable DC power supply matched to the LED strip's voltage and maximum current.
• Do not exceed 10A on either LED output or 20A total.
• The GPIO connections are 3.3V logic and are not 5V tolerant.
• The controller has an IP20 rating and is intended for appropriate indoor/dry installations unless additional protection is provided.
• Use suitable wire sizes, connectors and protection for the installation's current requirements.
