The Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-S3 packs high performance into a compact size. At the heart is the ESP32-S3R8 chip with a dual core 32-bit Xtensa LX7 processor that can operate up to 240 MHz. This enables the board to run more complex programs while maintaining ultra low power consumption, making it perfect for battery-powered IoT devices.

With 8MB of PSRAM and 8MB of flash memory, there is ample room for installing functionality-rich firmware like ESPHome. The memory also allows you to store data from multiple sensors or drive memory hungry displays.

Connecting sensors and peripherals is easy with 11 digital GPIO pins that can act as PWM outputs, 9 analog inputs usable as ADCs, and support for communication protocols like UART, I2C, IIS, and SPI. An integrated battery charging circuit lets you easily add a Li-Po battery for portable convience.

This board really shines for wireless connectivity. It has dual-mode Bluetooth 5.0 BLE and 2.4 GHz WiFi built-in. An external antenna ensures you get great range to connect with smartphones, tablets, or WiFi routers from afar.

Despite all this functionality, the XIAO ESP32-S3 retains the familiar thumb-sized form factor with single-sided components that allows for surface mounting or embedding into your projects. It works with many open source platforms like Arduino, PlatformIO, Tasmota, ESPHome, and ESPEasy.
